Andy,
I too remember the moon landing in 69. I was an uncle in cabin 12. We were so excited about them bringing in the television to wigwam and everyone got to stay up late. When the 40th anniversary came and all the TV stuff, I remembered that night as if it were yesterday. I still can’t believe the campers are 40 years older as well as myself. I missed the reunion because I had knee replacement. Maybe the next one.

Hey, Mickie, I love the site. My brother and i have been looking over the old year books, checking out friends, really enjoying. I think of amazing times on the Alagash as both a camper and an uncle. I was at Fort Kent when Nixon resigned. Kennebec was the place where we watched the Neil Armstrong land on the moon. Johnny Cohn beat me out for the indoor league batting champ by one hit. By the way years later, Johnny gave me the trophy. I wish i had the opportunity to send my kids to a place like Kennebec. Amazing, i only smile when i relive it. By the way, is the property now an Orthodox camp?

Any advice for a dad who wants a Kennebec-like experience for his sons? I have some ideas but am open to ideas. “…For other camps have colors, and they are good ones too, but they will swiftly fade away, and with them we are through” GO GREY!
