Campership Fund

The Camp Kennebec Alumni Fund was established in conjunction with Kennebec’s centennial in 2007. We partnered with the American Camp Association (“ACA”) to administer our Fund. In 2010, we entered into an amended agreement with ACA and the ACA Foundation to permanently manage our Fund, including the investment and disbursements of its assets. Donations to our Fund are fully tax deductible under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Since its inception, our Fund has financially assisted campers to attend summer camp who otherwise could not afford to do so. Our most recent grants have been to much larger campership funds administered by ACA nationally, by ACA in New England and by another tax exempt organization which provides camp funding for children who have lost one or both parents.

As of June 30, 2019, our fund’s cash balance was $102,800. We try to keep our annual total grants at about five percent of current assets in order to perpetuate the fund as long as possible but we are permitted to distribute more. We welcome donations which may be  made by check payable to Camp Kennebec Alumni Fund and mailed directly to:
